Meanwhile KARA and Shojo Jidai are pulling in crazy numbers, even after months.
That always happens with K8….
Be glad your boyband even ranks, most Johnny’s groups, even the shitty ones… outrank better groups like Buck-Tick and Yoshii Lovinson, and to some extent ledgends like B’z depending on when it’s released.
Get over Kpop outselling your favorite acts like they are the only ones outselling them, it’s what’s in right now, and to be fair SNSD and most of the female groups are pandering to the pedo side of Japanese men most of the time, I mean why honestly does AKB even sell anything other then making men wank to their porno releases?
I think I just get bent out of shape because people who constantly bitch about Kpop being no good have no clue or no knowledge of Kpop and spout nonsense because they are too fucking lazy to give other Korean acts a try let alone any other acts from Taiwan or China, or even Thailand or Singapore, etc…
Same goes for people who assume all Jpop is this johnny’s bullshit, I love Arashi as much as you guys love K8, I can get over you guys constantly bashing them for whatever flavor of the month it is, but just assuming it’s all like that is the reverse of how people act towards Kpop.
It’s old, people are retarded and assume that Kpop is destroying their precious Jpop scene, get over it, because it’s not. Japan is stuck in it’s own rut, of recycling old themes over and over again and or/just as bad copying stuff from the west. I never hear no one talk about how Kenthe390 is a dru hill rip off, ever, then again I’ll be surprised anyone knows who he is. Even King Giddra, as much as I love them is almost every 90s rap group rolled into one, which isn’t a bad thing.
TL:DR, In other words, blame Japans taste, not Kpop. Get some K-music education in your lives.
Btw, I do get pretty butthurt and peoples constantly blaming/bashing of Kpop.I probably also overreacted, but it’s about time I said it.I’m sorry my whining has got you exasperated. I don’t really hate/dislike KPop invading Japan. At one point I almost became SNSD stan. I was just whining in general that my favorite boyband is not at the top. And no matter who’s at the top K8 won’t be at the top anyway, so, I’m sorry for pointlessly whining to the world. I am glad that it’s even where it is now, compared to years ago.
Trends come and go in the Japanese music industry. Idol rules them all now, that’s sad, but I’ll just wait for it to pass. Since that’s just how it is. I do hope real musicians will beat idols in the near future.

I’m just in general annoyed, not so much at you or merky, it’s just a general trend amongst the Jpoppers to have some faux nationaly or blinders on when it comes to Kpop, because believe me there are some amazing K-acts out there, just as there are J ones. I just always feel that the Jpop side of these arguments are always ( I’m assuming here) ignorant of the K music machine, and the rest of Asia to boot.
I just always feel that people wrongly are blaming the Hallyu wave for runing J-charts, and lets be honest (and my friends in Japan agree), Japan is tired of it’s own stuff, and the Hallyu wave is new and fresh, hence it taking off like it has. Granted most Kpop acts come over and re-hash thier songs into broken Japanese, which is a poor way to start off. Then there are groups like DBSK and UKISS that have really done it, new songs, fantastic releases, etc…
Not to mention other asian artists like Show Luo or Wu Bai or even Sa Ding Ding and Silly Fools ( I love all of them) who come over and get crushed under the Johnny’s machine or the Hallyu wave.
I just think I’m tired of the Jpop fandoms default of blaming Kpop for the state of the music charts just tires me out.
I think a lot of what’s pushed is horrible, I really can’t get into SNSD or 2NE1, etc.., when better groups like F(x), Rainbow or Nine Muses is out there being far more original/catchy, but I can understand why they sell, I mean even Secret is better then them. They have the same appeal that AKB does and then some, and their songs don’t have that tired idol pop edge, but a little more.
I repsect K8 for doing what they do, I tried to give them a try, but I’m not into them musically honestly, and I like some for their acting (Merky knows I have this problem with Yoko’s flat acting), but I can see their charm. Arashi has a charm all their own too, I am tired of their music direction atm, and the fact they are everywhere, it’s getting old, but I know they can put out a song about beans and rank higher them most Johnnies acts chart wise, which is bad.
I mean look at TOKIO, no one knows when they will release another album, if they will. They will never make the numbers K8 would or Arashi just because.
I dunno, sorry to be long winded, I’m just so annoyed with all the narrow minded opinions of the Asian music market I see flying around.
